Inglorious Basterds Review

Inglorious Basterds, a movie by Quentin Tarantino, is a World War II movie that's not historically accurate but very entertaining. The movie is a Spaghetti Western. Spaghetti Western meaning a movie about the American Old West made cheaply in Europe, typically by an Italian producer and director. Not typically something you would expect from a World War II movie. Tarantino used this genre for the film to make something the not many directors and producers can do. It made the movie special compared to other War movies. With the genre it subverts the audience's expectations for the movie. The audience was not expecting a movie that makes you laugh. Laughing at a World War II film? Yeah that doesn't normally happen. Earlier I said it wasn't very historically accurate, and I sure many people came into see the movie they thought it would be a bit more accurate.
